Apollo 250 DB - Blue: New Guy in FL
Hi All,
Happy to find this type of forum. Only ridden dirt bikes a handful of times (and that was 20 years ago) and finally got around to getting my own. Just ordered a week ago and just waiting for it to arrive! Around in the Tampa Bay Area and first stop is going to be Croom! Can't wait. |

It's finally here!
Got it built and took a little stroll around the neighborhood once over. Had to kickstart it. Electric Start isn't working and I don't know what the issue is. Had to change out the sparkplug right off the bat, the one it came with was black. Ideas of what I need to check on the electric start. I'm like Jon Snow - I know nothing! |

Your bike has a safety switch on the kick stand. It must be up to start.

Simple things first. Did you put the acid in the battery? If so, did you charge it before in stalling it. Did you tighten the bolts down on the battery wires? Do you have the red on the positive post and the black on the negative post?

I did the acid and charged it, bought the proper drip charger too. It charged to full. Yes to the posts.
Jerry - I remembered that from a motocheez video and did have the kickstand up. Side note - pushing the electric start doesn't even make a sound, no clicking or anything, dead quiet. |

More complex things. Check the safty switch on the clutch handle. Mine was on the front brake handle. Had to reroute the wires. Pull the seat and check the solenoid. Make sure the wires are connected good. Get a volt meter and be sure there is 12.4-13.7 VDC going everywhere it is supposed too.

I'll do those things this weekend when I have more time. I really appreciate the responses!
I have a volt meter too so I'll be able to do that quick. |

So I didn't even need to do those things, I took seat and panel off and battery acid leaked out from underneath the positive terminal and was starting to corrode the battery wire ends.
Gonna be reaching company I bought it from to send me a new battery or should I go ahead and just get a lithium? And is there a lithium that fits in the box already? |

Exactly why I say not to use the battery they give you with bike... buy a zipp battery. 20.00 on ebay. They have lithium batteries on as Amazon called "fire power lithium battery.
