I am very interested in this. Would love to have this paired with a Nibbi.

Here's a reply from the Ebay dealer. when I asked if they shipped to the USA do they have any issues with getting through customs. "Dear Friend, Sure , no problem my friend. We delivered many to USA every month Kindly contact if any other further information needed. RGDS! James" They also replied. "Dear Friend, More information for you. If the engine can't get through the custom, it would be returned or rejected by custom, Which means it can't be delivered. If the engine can't be delivered successfully to your address, your money has to be returned to your account. You would be 100% safe in such business. Please relax and have confidence on our profession RGDS! James"

Anyone know of the quickest way to destroy a hawk motor? Mine is not even broke in yet so its kind of hard to justify buying a new motor! I have a feeling my hawk is going to be too reliable to do this anytime soon. I will probably have the most reliable hawk ever produced. Kind of funny because when the motor finally blows I will be grinning ear to ear!

Don't get your hopes up too high. Over 7000 mile on my Hawk and still running strong. Lol But why try to destroy the engine. Just order the engine and sell the hawk engine. There's always somebody needing and engine or parts on here.

The video says 68 MPH on that particular bike, so I wonder what could be reasonably expected after the usual China mods. My current absolute maximum is 69.
Also, would it be more beneficial to get the one that includes the wiring harness for $718? And I wonder how much a used OEM Hawk motor is worth.

Top speed with this engine won't be much different than the hawk in stock form. Maybe 1 hp more. Note the large size of that rear sprocket on that bike. Geared low so 68mph will be the fastest it will go with that gear ratio. The difference would be with 6 speed is the wider range on the gear ratio since 6th gear is a 2nd overdrive. You will be able to use a lower gear ratio for off-road and not lose top end because of the 6th gear. You would be getting the best of both worlds. Mod wise you can get more HP from porting and decking plus being it's a OHC engine you could get a custom cam made. I wouldn't be surprised if a Hotcam for a Honda CB engine would fit. I know on a CB200 engine I had it made a huge improvement. But without having that engine sitting in front of me to take measurements I have no way to know.

Horses are more available in the 249cc air cooled engine
Just no 6th gear. At that cost etc you’d be better off with the Apollo bike with another 223cc OHC engine in it and I’d think that engine be available in the USA if the sellers weren’t so greedy I posted long ago - engines $300ish DHL $325ish plus some profit etc |

Forgive me for being new to China Riders, but is there a 249cc motor that is a direct bolt-in on the Hawk?
EDIT: I see CG/CB motors that might fit but seems still need substantial modifications or just cost prohibitive. The Loncin looked mildly attractive at $700 considering it might be a direct swap, nearly plug and play. But without real boost in HP, my money would be better spent on a whole different bike. This would indeed be a fine replacement for a blown motor, but not a worthy upgrade in my eyes.

I see it as a worthy upgrade for 2 reasons. A 6th gear allowing for way better off road sprocket gearing while still allowing the bike to be street ridden like a Hawk with much taller sprockets. While the power difference seems small ( about 2hp ) the CB engines also utilize their full RPM range better. Also, a fact not brought up about the RE250 that I think gives it a third reason is it's gear driven counter balancer. Yes, the RE250 is counterbalanced, and unlike the CG counter balancer is not chain driven nor does it require a big tumor off the front of the motor. This means it fits where a non balanced CG will fit.
