Seat Concepts Narrow Comfort seat
After my last big trip, my biggest complaint was the stock seat. I immediately ordered the Seat Concepts seat and, being short of inseam, I ordered the Narrow version.
First things first: the Narrow seat will not be easier to reach the ground than the stock seat. The regular Seat Concepts seat makes it harder to reach the ground; the Narrow version is generally about the same as the stock seat. Second things second: I put in a long day on it today, about 460 miles. Is it better than the stock seat? Well, yes, but then again if you bent over and let Floyd Meriwether punch you in the butt for 9 straight hours, that would still feel better than the stock seat. Is the Seat Concepts seat much more comfortable than stock? Meh, not night and day, but it is better. It was about 90 minutes before I was squirming and looking for some relief. I am still pretty sore after about 10 hours in the saddle, but not like the stock seat. Others have said that the seat is firm at first and takes some breaking in. I am looking forward to that, I hope it gets better. I know 460 miles in a day is asking a lot from any seat; my Harley's Sundowner can deliver a comfortable ride over that much riding, I hope the RX3's Seat Concepts will break in to deliver that too. That said, it is an improvement already over the stock seat. |

That said, if I was going to do a 460 mile day, I'd take the Harley!

After two days in a row of 440+ miles, I totally agree, I am seriously missing the Harley.
But, the purpose of these two days is to get to the start of a major off-road trail that runs 1,300+ miles, and I don't think the Harley would enjoy that very much. |
