Bringing the Texas heat
Hello all, I'm in Houston Texas and today I brought home a green Hawk 250. This is my first motorcycle. I will be taking my basic rider course next weekend so that I can take this baby on the road. For now my condo parking lot will do. I purchased this beauty from Harwin Power Sports. It is a local Chinese scooter dealer. Total out the door price was 1600.00. This includes assembly, tax, title, and license. Also comes with a 90 day warranty. I spoke with the mechanic that assembled it and he was able to answer all of my questions.

Welcome aboard .... Congratulations on becoming a Hawkster You'll be shocked at just how many errands you'll suddenly need to run. Next might be a trunk to further expand your errand running capabilities .... all in the name of fuel savings on course!

Yes, very true on the errands. I used to see how many I could pile together before making the trip to town.

Welcome!
I encourage you to check over the bike yourself, rather than putting your faith in the assembly skills of others. It's wise to change the oil with something you know to be appropriate and to apply blue Loctite to all of the bolts. That is not normally done by bike shops, and it'll save you some aggravation.

What a great price, AND a brick and mortar dealer! Very good choice and a sharp looking bike for sure.

Also, what's the gearing like? Some bikes of this style are geared very low, ie practical top speed maybe 45. Those benefit from regearing.

I did change the oil as soon as I got it home and I look it over for loose nuts and bolts. So far the gear shifter required Locktite and the horn spade slot connectors needed to be tightened with pliers. |

There are other items that the assembler would not do, like remove the motor mount nuts and apply Loctite. If they get loose, the bolt holes will round out in the motor.
