Zongshen ZSM 200gy basic service info.
Hi all.
I am new to this forum and just bought my first bike a 2012 Zongeshen ZSM 200gy . I bought the bike with 1000km (620miles) and paid R9000 ($850) for it which is not bad i guess. As for looks its still brand new and everything is still stock standard. I will be using the bike to go to work and back which is about 50miles return. That being said I would like to do a few basic upgrades that wont brake the bank. I would like to turn the bike more into an endurance than city bike , so torque is not that important , i would like more top end speed witout punishing the engin. i was thinking of getting a smaller rear wheel sprocket . i currently have a WLJF 46-428 sprocket on the rear. i was thinkinf of a 44 tooth sprocket just to get that extra 10kph. i would alos like to get a new spark plug , air filter ,petrol filter and oil change. If you can give met the right advice from what to buy that would be great. |

Indeed, you got a good deal.
I will keep my responses limited to this thread, since it's confusing to have three threads on the same topic. Read the following thread for information regarding your choices in rear sprockets. http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=5086 I suggest you get the recommended, NGK D8EA spark plug. Unless you decide to remove the air box and install a pod air filter, you don't have any options other than the stock air filter. Incidentally, the stock air filter does a great job. At a minimum, I suggest you clean the stock air filter, and oil it with BelRay Air Filter Oil, or the equivalent. Any fuel filter which fits your fuel link will work well for you. Just make sure you install it in the correct orientation if it is directional. Any good motor oil will work well for you. I recommend you change the engine oil at least every 2,000 kms. You can learn how to change the engine oil by reading the following thread. http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=4960 If you wish to learn more about your Zongshen 200GY-2, I strongly encourage you to read the threads in the Zong Sticky, located at the top of this Dual Sport Forum. http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=6051
