For those of us that have trouble kickstarting.
This may help. I knew there was a proper way that eased kickstarting.

Just try kickstarting a GL1000 when the battery is dead.. 8O
Really takes some effort..

Did the original GL1000 have a kickstart? I kicked a KZ900 before knee surgery. It was bear. The thing about these two bikes is that they are multi cylinder and position of engine is not as important.
I just use the e-start so I don't tear my new knee up. It was a selling point for me on the bike. I have used this starting procedure and can start the lifan with one kick. Allen
