Help with installing FMF turbine core 2 universal

Spud I read that post and it helped some but the problem i have is that when i took off the muffler and tried to install the fmf and pipe that came with it was about 6 inches or so too short. did you guy cut off some of the old exhaust and use it?
Spud i looked close to your pictures and the SS header you have looks longer to make up the difference. just wanted to check with you guys before i cut off some of my old muffler. thanks alan
