HSUN quit and will not start

Came home today and decided to take the bike out for a spin. Left the house drove about 3 blocks on the road, turned into the woods started up the hill, took a wrong turn on the trail, pulled in the clutch to stop and turn around, heard a very small backfire and the bike would not start. Thank goodness it was mostly down hill back home, only had to push the bike a couple hundred feet.

Checked for spark- had none. Pulled the bike apart and visually checked the wiring- seemed OK. Am i safe to assume the CDI went?
