getting first bike

I found this site when I was researching this mysterious brand bike that was being sold on ebay around here. There is good information here and it cleared up a lot. I'm hear to read and decide whether I want a lifan or clone for my first bike or save up double for a used name brand. I like to take fix/build/mod things, so if I get a china bike, I will contribute, until then, just lurking.
