08 AL GY-5 from motoxtreme + my experience so far
Chronology (after many weeks of online research):
THU 6.19.08 11:00am - emailed Brian @ motoxtreme.net with a few questions THU 6.19.08 2:42pm - received response from Brian FRI 6.20.08 2:30pm - Ordered (paypal) 2008 LF200GY-5 from Brian @ motoxtreme.net SAT 6.21.08 9:33pm - Confirmation of payment received from Brian FRI 6.27.08 4:30pm - Called Brian to check status of order, he said it was on its way THU 7.03.08 3:15pm - GY-5 Received THU 7.03.08 5:00pm - Emailed Brian inquiring about assembly instructions THU 7.03.08 11:20pm - Assembly instructions received FRI 7.04.08 9:00pm - Assembly completed, including bike PREP (locktite, oil change, etc) SAT 7.05.08 10:00am - First Ride = SWEET :!: Issues: * Bike wouldn't start initially without moving the throttle a very small amount, adjusted idle screw to no avail, adjusted throttle cable near throttle, starts easier now * Choke cable was broken - see image * Seat does not bear Lifan name - see image Issue Status: * Bike doesn't always start easily, but it appears to do better each time * Waiting for new choke cable (not really needed yet) * Still discussing seat issue * Waiting for Paperwork (anxiously ) Comments received: * Wow, it looks better in person than it did in the pictures. My Status: * So far I am very happy, haven't been able to test it out too much, since there is no good place to ride until I am able to get tags. Can't wait to put some more miles on it (or is that kilometers ) |
