Broke my back....
in November 2021. Crashed my Ninja in a curve full of unseen dirt. Didn't think much of if. Kinda like the usual crash with losing the front and a gentle low side ending up sliding down the road on my back. End result was a torn up jacket (love leather!), lots of blood dripping onto the road from road rash, another opportunity to watch the road go past my nose (love full face helmets!), and other than a unknown and unfelt compression fracture of Lumbar L5 no broken bones.
Off to the ER where I sat for 2 hours dripping blood on the floor waiting to get in (do NOT like our health care system for those who actually have health insurance!!) and sent home after being bandaged up (no Xrays). Fast forward a few years with back pain gradually increasing until unbearable to the point that i opted for surgery in Dec of 2023 That is where the L5 fracture was found. Well things haven't gone well and the 4th surgery in 8 months was just done August 30 of 2024. It has been a long journey. |
