Thumbs Up Greetings from Middle TN

I bought a 2019 RPS Hawk on facebook marketplace for 1k a year ago with 2700 miles on the OD

The guy totally lied to me about what was wrong with the bike, he said it was "good to go".

I naively trusted him because I wouldn't lie to someone when selling anything.

I rode the bike for a week before I realized the frame down below was completely broken on the left side.

The tires were in terrible condition too. For some reason it took me 4 months to realize the bike had a 500cc sports bike chain instead of the correct size.

My friend rode my bike and dropped it in my yard which cracked the petcock severely.

Finally 7 months later I decided to fix the hawk up.

I replaced the tubes in the tires with heavy duty tubes, I threw Shinko 705's on the wheels. I bought a new gas tank. Got tags and insurance. Ugraded to a 17/45 sprocket/128 chain setup.

I welded the frame together as well.

I've also put a JFG aftermarket exhaust system on the bike.

Now, I ride the bike nearly everyday on the road and on the highway. I'm not really a dirtbike guy, I usually ride Sports bikes, namely the Honda CBR.

The hawk has been a labor of love but I've decided to keep the bike and little by little, make it reliable. This is by far the easiest motorcycle to do mechanical work on that I've ever owned.

After upgrades I've invested about 1400$ including the 1k$ initial buying cost. Next up is the Nibi carb, I just ordered an iridium spark plug as well.

I used the hawk on paved roads only, I've converted it into an inner city commuter bike, and it works very well for that. It's nice not having a motorcycle where I have to learn forward and strain my lower back like a sportsbike requires.

You guys seem way more knowledgeable and kind than the Hawk 250 community on reddit so I joined up.

Nice to meet you guys!
