NEED HELP!! Zongshen 250cc to Honda XR150L
Hi there!
I hope this is ok, I am new to the forums. I desperately need help, this is basically my only mode of transportation and i need it on the road. I need help with the wiring set up on the Zongshen 250cc engine into a Honda XR150L. I already have the engine bolted into the frame, its set up and wired in for the stator and carb/etc. Everything seems good to go, however I can not get it to fire to spark plug. Lemme explain a little of context here: The Honda had a 3 phase stator while the Zongshen is a 2 phase but has an extra black/red wire coming out. What I read up on and followed videos on, was wiring the extra stator wire into the original connector for the Honda (wiring 2 wires onto 1 and then 1 on 1). Its all connected, all getting power, I have power to my neutral switch, the engine does try to turn over but never quite gets there. I can smell gas, so its getting it but its just not firing up. Is this even the right wiring set up for the yellow stator wires? It seems this wire would go into the ignition fire port in an AC CDI, however I have a Honda DC CDI wiring harness set up. How can I get this thing to fire up and move the bike while still being road legal (lights/etc)? I am unable to get spark to the spark plug, everything else is fine, it thump thump thumps but will not fire up. If I can just get it wired up to fire and run the engine would be best case (if easy obviously like just use the kick start or something), however could I just switch out the old stator from the Honda to the Zongshen and hit her up in worst case? I would appreciate any help anyone would have the time to give me. Thank you in advance! Last edited by Skullatrix; 06-26-2024 at 11:02 PM. |
