Quieter than Stock Muffler for Hawk 250 - Repack?

Hello Gentlemen and Ladies!

I was wondering if anyone has found a way to make the Hawk 250 stock exhaust not so loud. It is perfectly quiet at idle and below 1/8 throttle, but it is scare the neighbors loud over 1/8 throttle. My ears ring and hurt after a 10 minute ride at 35mph. I know ear plugs fix that for me, but it takes 5 minutes before every ride to get them to seat, and they do nothing to help my scarred neighbors.

I pulled the exhaust end cap to see if it had a spark arrestor, and maybe it has a poor one, but, I did not see any packing whatsoever in the silencer. Has anyone ever packed the stock silencer and did it reduce noise?

Anyone have success with an alternative silencer that works better?
