Fuel Filter TBR7

Getting ready to fill the tank for the 1st time and I noticed the bike didn't come with an in line fuel filter. I'm not planning on putting dirty fuel in it and the tank seems clean from what little I can see with a flash light. Some minor surface rust where the vent tube from bottom of gas fitting was welded inside the tank.
I'm thinking the engineering team at Tao Motors would surely have incorporated one when designing the fuel system if it was needed. Then again, they might have been busy value engineering the handlebars that day and left the fuel system up to an intern who forgot about a filter. Do the Japanese bikes they copy this fuel system from run in line filters?
A filter Could be cheap insurance against carb problems but, adds two additional fuel line connections that could become leak points.
How long does the plastic on these China bikes burn for anyway?
