Some of the other things I have done to this bike include removing the stock airbox and installing a UNI filter with pre-filter, changing out the spark plug for a Autolite 4164 which is one step hotter than the stock and gapped to .060, moved all the electronics under the seat after retapping all the wires, relocated the replacement battery to the airbox location, changed out front sproket to a 15 tooth, rear still a 56 for now, painted side panels black, removed all the stickers and the Allroad from the seat, greased front and rear axles, swingarm and shock mount bolts and lubed up the clutch and throttle cables. I also cut off a bunch of stuff, misc mounting plates, rear peg holders and the like, I removed the chain guard and rear chrome muffler guard and the front one had to go as well. The cheap chrome plating was falling off the front one at 56 miles.

I have maybe 12 hours of total WORK time in this project. Closer to a weekend project with the running to the store for stuff and the time it takes to paint stuff and wait for it to dry and so on. I would say that 4 hours of this time involved removing the carb like 5000 times during the tuning process. 8O One of the great joys of doing something like this is getting to know your bike inside and out. Knowing exactly what tools you need to fix it and what it is going to take to get it done. My main jet is a 100 and fuel screw out 2 1/8 turns, clip to the bottom notch. My new top speed is about 46 mph. Climbs like a mountain goat though. Fuel economy is shot to hell, got 34 miles on one gallon of gas. (had to push it home about a 1/4 mile) Only way this bike is ever gonna see 90mph is if I ride it off a tall cliff or it gets thrown out of a plane. Never gonna get 70 mpg. It was built to ride in the mountains and that is it. In my luggage I have all the tools needed to tear this bike apart, spare nuts and bolts, spare tubes, tube patch kit, little CO-2 tire inflator thing with spare CO-2, electical tape, stick of JB Weld, some baling wire, quart of oil, quart of gas, 2 tire spoons, small first aid kit, 2 flares, matches in water proof case, extra bullets and a space blanket. Other bike will carry food stuff and some cooking stuff. I am thinking about a new front tire, gonna do a little trip into the mountains around here this week and make up my mind, I am also working on a tube style skid plate.

Hope this helps anyone who wants a setup like this. I know most of you use your scoot for the street but I think they can be made into great excursion bikes with a little work.
