Rx3 in tank fuel filter

I have my RX3 tank apart and am looking for info how the inline fuel filter should be as mine is bent at a 90 deg angle standing up in the tank. So too me its only sucking fuel about 1" square around where it mounts to tank and 3/4 of it is being wasted because of the tight bend its at ????
Any pics of them installed correct way if there is a correct way directionally.
Also how do you take it off the fuel pump to clean it? Thanks, rj
