I bought what I thought was a main jet kit from Ebay for a vm26, but they're not quite right. They're very similar dimensions, but the thread pitch is every so slightly larger, and they don't screw in. At least they were cheap.

Can I get away without taking the tank off (as per CSC manual) to remove the carb? Looks like it is tight at the top but seems to be otherwise pretty accessible. I'd prefer not to have to pull the tank every time I'm messing about with jetting. |
Usually, you have to take the slide out of the carburetor when it's close to being a tight fit. If that isn't enough, loosen the carb mounting nuts, take off the one nearest to you and let the carb tilt down, the pull the slide out.....ARH
