GY6 Help Needed
I'm posting this here because the GY6 is used in scooters, buggies and ATV's; who knows who'll chime in.
I've been working on my friend Linda's 150 GY6 quad, and I'm struggling to get it to idle and run properly. It has run well on some occasions, but then on others it will run very rough and not idle. I'm pretty confident that it is a fueling issue. The stock carb lacked a drain screw, so I swapped the carb for a new Keihin CVT, and I replaced the jets to what I think will be in the ballpark for the pod filter I've installed. I've made the same mods to our GY6, so I know it is very close. With the key on, I'm only getting trace voltage at the fuel enricher / automatic choke, and I think that's the issue. Please tell me: is there a constant 12v supplied to the fuel enricher, and it is a thermostat? Is there a thermostat somewhere in the system that determines whether full voltage should be supplied to the enricher? I haven't torn into the harness to find out, and I'm hoping our fine members here will educate me. Thanks!
