2009/10 Gio X31 250 lock nut

Hi everyone,
I am stumped.
Needed a new clutch, ordered one up.
Go to take off the old clutch, there is some sort of counter balance thing in the way.
About 4" to the right of the clutch. Sort of bell/cone shaped thing.
It is held on by a recessed 4 sided lock not.
I have customized 2 sockets, and made 2 4 pin driver tools.
Broke them all.
How do I get that damned thing off?
