I was invited to enter the Enfield in a motorcycle show last night.
The big bike show in my area of Eastern Washington is Hogs And Dogs. About 2,000 bikes show up, and there are about 50-75 in the show per se.
Last year I won Best Classic with my restored 1972 Honda CB175 Super Sport. This is the bike I sold to buy the Enfield. This year I was not planning on competing. I parked it all the other bikes in general parking. It attracted a lot of attention there. I walked off to visit with some friends. When I walked by later, there were several show judges admiring the Enfield, and they invited me to join the show! ;D The bike was clean but not detailed, but show worthy so I rode it over. I did not know what category to enter it in, but seeing that there were few British or European classics there, I picked that class. The Enfield won, but I sorta cheated because it's simply a showroom new 'antique'. 8) I was up front about this but no one seemed to mind, it's a low key fun event. Still, I have found that when I put a bike up for sale, mentioning that it is a show winner with a trophy to prove it is very helpful.
