XR250 Sidecar unit...

As requseted..
Below is the build thread from ADV Rider...

This unit was a trial to see if I liked haveing a side car.
the idea was a cargo unit tp carry fuel/tools/camping gear etc.
it has 15* learn left/right..On the seal you just lean in the corners
as you normaly would..on thighter corners you can run out of lean
then you shift your weight to the inside as you would on a normal
ridged side car...
The car is very light... I can carry it with out to much efit..
The little 250 can still sit between 90/100kph on the seal..

Off road/dirt... The car can go up & down over bumps with very little
efect on the bike...
Gravel roads..I have found if you going a bit hot into a corner
a dap on the rear brake will flick the rear out a bit..point the
bike the way you want to turn... And you can ride anywhere
on the gravel..over the gravel mound in the centre with no
chance off the bike slideing out from under yer.
but saying all that... it is a leant skill , but dosn't take to long
to comes to grips with it..

It took 2 goes to get it to work..the first time I put it on the road it would NOT turn... The side car wheel was to far forward... now i know
the car wheel should be NO further forward the 15% of the bikes wheel base.. So i'm running 200mm of lead on a 1450mm wheel base..
with a 900mm track..thats quite narrow for a side car...

I have a XT660R that I'm going to build a Dakar/Enduro
style unit for...

Go have a look at the build..see how its put togeather
