'06 LF200GY-5 + a can of spray paint.
Here it is the day I put it together:
It spent the first two years of its life outside 24/7/365. Color and paint kind of went to crap. So 2 years ago I picked up a can of Krylon Fusion in flat black. Never got around to taking any pics of the results. I was out on a ride today in Tuscarora State Forest and snapped some pics with my phone (Sorry about the quality). The paint has actually held up pretty well. It has only come off on a spot from laying it down in the woods. Let me know what you guys think of the (not so) new look:

Looks awesome! What kind of trunk is that? Never seen one quite like that before.

Thanks.
Trunk was from JC Whitney: http://www.jcwhitney.com/travel-trunk/p2002510.jcwx# Don't know what I would do without it. Since I still use the bike for commuting, it carries my rain gear.

The krylon fusion with a clearcoat on top is still holding up well on my bike after about 2 years. I keep my bike garaged so I'm sure that helps.
The Krylon Fusion paint is easier to find now also. Thanks for the update, the bike still looks great! |

wow I think the black looks a whole lot better.... did you hve to remove the decals or did you just spray over them? I know on my bike the decals were clear coated over... made it a real pain to get them off.
BTW my parents live up near wilkesbarre.. not too far from you there.

fishman10 , Nice Zongshen. The all black Zongshens are what actually inspired me to go all black with the Lifan. Need to update my profile, I'm up in Perry Co. now as well.
melissann, IIRC, all I did was hit all the plastic lightly with sandpaper. Whatever came off, came off, what didn't come off got roughed up a bit. It wasn't what you would consider a professional job...LOL. All in all I think I had no more than 4 hours in the whole job and that includes taking the plastic off and back on, sanding and painting. The "cool boy" stickers are still there under the paint. I'm actually surprised that the paint adhered as well to the existing paint as it did. Like I said, it has not come off one bit except for where it was violently scraped off one day on a misguided hill climb. Ironic part is the bike has been garaged since it was painted. Spent the first two+ years when new out in the sun/rain/snow 24/7 and now that it is beat up it has a nice garage to live in. But heck, it still starts runs and takes me wherever I want to go.

Looks great to me.
Fish, I love the saddlebags. they look military surplus! Krylon fusion is great. I just used it yesterday to repaint the foot peg brackets and rear brake lever of the old Yamaha I'm fixing up.

Fishman, Perry co is great. Especially like that we have no emissions inspection.
