Fork Shaft Bolt Failure Bashan Enforcer
This goes into the category of always check your bike before you ride. I know this happened on a hawk and was a post on this site. Looks like I caught it earlier than that guy did. I have a whole new set up coming from CSC motorcycles. Total cost is less than $20. I'm thinking everyone should just go ahead and replace these or continuously check on them.

Is that a swing-arm bolt instead of a fork shaft bolt?

The nomenclature on CSC motorcycles is Fork shaft bolt. It's the same thing though.

ok. I was just confused when I saw that chain in the picture. Must be a Chinese language translation thing. I guess the swing arm could be seen as a fork.
Thanks for pointing this out. I will be checking more closely before and after I ride.

Here's hoping that the CSC version is higher quality.

The TT250 version is a shaft with two nuts on each end.
There must have been a bad batch of those bolts that got sent out. I think anybody with any version of this type of bike should be be careful to check it. That looks like the bolt was not tempered properly.

The bolt that came with the bike looks like it was made out of cast poop. Just take a look at the picture of the bolt head. Almost anything is going to be of a higher quality.

On the bottom picture you can see a bright ring near the edge where it looks as though the bolt has been moving as the swinging arm has fluctuated up and down, instead of having the S/A rotate on the bearing surfaces, and the bolt stay still. Also the bolt is bone dry, as mine was when I took it out. The bolt in the picture even looks brittle, just from its exterior appearance. Any extra stress would cause something so brittle to fail. Good spot.

Do your axle bolts look the same way? If they do I would change them too.

Funny you should ask because I just checked them. They actually look pretty good but I'm still going to change them because now all of these big bolts that look like they were cast are suspect.

Cast poop. I may have to try that with asparagus and red po's. ;-)
I can tell you first hand that the TT250 swingarm pivot set up is light years better....and very heavy and solid. Let's hope it's the same inner diameter.

The CSC is listed as M14. That's the exact same size of the bolt that I pulled out of this bike.
