Fortunately, I'm getting better at sticking my arm into the TT250 up to my elbow and locating the choke flipper with one finger. Like I say, you need a proctologist license to be good at it.

Choke cable
I was contemplating getting a choke cable. I've had a few close calls trying to "find" the choke lever. What length cable do I need for a Hawk 250? Does anyone have a link for one?
Thanks!

Perhaps it would be better to study a little proctology so as to be able to reach the choke flipper. Read next post below...ARH

So I've decide to try swapping the sprockets and seeing how that impacts my mileage. Right now I have 15/56 which has me at 3.73 and that thing is screaming at 45/50mph so that isn't helping my mileage either.
Looking at 14/46 which gets me to around 3.29. That may seem a little too high for off-road to some but I have to be realistic and most of my riding is street and not much worse than dirt roads. So I'll be fine for the majority of what I'm doing.

What they said^. I would say do the 46 rear first and see how you like it. If its too tall for your liking, which i doubt it will be, then swapping to a 14 front will be easy. For mostly street use you could get away with less than 3:1, especially if you dont want to be winding the motor out at highway speeds

No, no type-o just what I read other people went with. But don't worry I'll try just the rear one first.

Yes it is, and with a 56 tooth rear sprocket, to get that 3:30 range it would need a 17 tooth front.
I think this would be the better way to go. I only suggested trying to rear out first because of his desired two sprockets. Plus, if you want to go taller, say similar to going with a 46 rear on the 15 tooth front, if you do the 17 tooth front first, to get about the same gearing as a 15/46, you could run a 17/50. The thing to consider is, with these bikes they are geared so short for off-road duty. On-road you can gear it up quite a bit. That is why there are guys with Hawks running 17/40 sprocket combinations, which is a 2.35 ratio. I am contemplating doing a 17/43 (2.53)for road use, and simply swapping the front to a 15 (2.87) if I ever desire to do more trail stuff.
