Dual Batteries?
I am going to put a winch on my 200cc SUNL soon. i also have Tusk 35watt headlights. has anyone tried putting 2 batteries on their atv? I am thinking i will have to use some kind of isolator. i have a spare battery that is a little smaller than my current one.
i want to have both of my batteries charge at the same time, and be able to use the double the amps. so ill wire them in series to maintain 12volts. any input would be greatly appreciated! |

I'm sure what you meant was to wire them in parallel. Series would produce 24 volts.
No, there's no problem with using two batteries; you're charging system will see them as one big battery. No isolator is needed, unless you plan on using a winch. Always make sure your batteries are fully charged before you head out. Making the charging system charge two batteries will take forever.

x2 on the parallel connection!!!
As for the charging, since the connection between them will be with cables or metal plates of some kind, in case of need for emergency charging, just disconnect one of the poles and only one of the batteries will remain on the charging tit |
