2021 TBR7 Air Box
I've watched several YouTube videos on air box mods. Concerns over getting water and/or engine oil in the air box. I'm curious if the air box on the 2021 TBR7's has been improved over previous model years. There doesn't seem to be any restriction with respect to the air in side.
I was going to paste of pic but too complicated for me to figure out the whole file size limitation thing |

Valves were too tight on mine as well. I'm hoping to get 1st start at least this weekend. Maybe even a ride around the block once or twice if Milwaukee weather will permit it.

The lids on the tbr7 have a larger inlet than the hawks. The weak point seems to be the cheesy paper filter that is located right under the inlet, so water and stuff settles there. But really, I don't have any issues with mine.

FYI, Don't overfill the oil or your air box will become the oil depository. Also you may notice a friction slip if using Mobile 1 synthetic motorcycle racing oil. My experiences at least |

Yes. I see it's easy to overfill these. I caught that discussion on this forum and filled with just less than 1 qt, then creeped up on it with no more than 1qt total. Wish it had a sight glass like the Hawks. I'm using the Rotella T4. I use Rotella it in a small diesel I have with good success. Seemed as good a starting point as any and had it on the shelf.

The valves on my son's new TBR7 had no gap at all. I am glad we checked, and adjusted them before starting it. |

I like to mod, but I won't alter my 2021 TBR7-D airbox. It seems perfect to me, with a nice big pleated filter sheltered from water and mud.
