I'll have to check to see what I have on Q. I accidently over-geared him, with some performance mods (jetting and exhaust) hoping for a screaming top speed. I went a little too tall and I was losing speed in 5th on just the slightest uphills with my 200 pound a$$ on it. I backed off a little and found the perfect combo. It revs higher be held a higher top speed. I'll post what I find.... Same gear ratio should work on a TT with some minor mods.

on the hawk. but based on the rpm you stated you had with 17/45 the TT250 gears are different. with 17/47 its hitting 63mph at just under 8000rpm.
based on that the tt250 with 17/43 will be lower than a hawk with 16/45 - with 17/43 the TT should sit at about 7500rpm at 65mph

I looked today and found that I have a 17 50 combo as standard and the motorcycle will do 50mph tops. A cruise speed of 50 would be OK with WOT of 60 would be better. Possible?

Did you notice any exhaust leak where the header goes into the engine?
I have the same exhaust and notice/hear a small exhaust leak there. The new exhaust Od is around 1.5mm smaller than the OEM where it fits into the engine. I cut one of the bolt holes the same way you did, but I am going to try doing that to the second as well. Edit: Never mind, I found my issue. Air Filter
The pod filter finally arrived! :-)
I went with the Nibbi filter for a couple reasons. Mainly because I knew the frame may interfere and I wanted the longer bent neck on it. Also, for our riding purposes, (90% pavement, 10% gravel road), I prefer the K&N style. Besides, it says "racing" so it has to make it faster, right!? ;-) Anyway, the filter seems of a very good quality. So far, I'm happy with it. Also, I did the math and it is within one square inch of the stock paper filter but is by far a more open breather. After fitting, I hit it with a light coating of K&N filter oil and then did the final mounting. https://www.amazon.com/Racing-Perfor...bi+42mm+filter The filter fit almost too perfectly...as it was damn tight to the frame rail and it really only was able to be mounted in one spot and still clear.....and it barely cleared. If I'm up-in-the-air on it later, I'll fabricate a short extension. We'll see. It looks good for now. As you can see it also clears the outer skin nicely but is protected in behind it from manzanita branches, etc... For those who are going to be doing much more off-road than the 2LZ Family, but still want a pod filter, I'd suggest one of these type. Weldangrind really prefers the Uni-style double sock oiled foam filter like this one. Serviceable, oilable and its use in the dirtbike world is legendary. They protect very well against the finest of dust....but with no real neck, you'll need to fabricate one to extend it out a bit. https://www.amazon.com/Filter-Cleane...ike+air+filter

so you took the cover off the front sprocket and counted teeth? because with the stock 17/50 (counted) I was hitting 60

Rear Sprocket and Hub
Since I got confirmation on my rear sprocket shipping (thanks kohburn!), I decided last night to take the stock sprocket off and prepare it for shipping to JT Sprockets (Bike Alert) so they can measure it out. Hopefully if they don't already have something in stock, they'll be able to make us a sprocket in a variety of tooth configurations. Fingers crossed!
Once off the rim, I got a confirmed 7mm offset. I still don't think this will cause much of a problem going to a flat sprocket, especially with the length of chain and how the countershaft sprocket wobbles on the countershaft. If it starts to cause chain wear, I'll do something else later. The hub itself appears to be a solid (non-cush? unless the rubber is hidden inside somehwere) direct bolt hub....and looks very sturdy. The bolt stand-offs are fat and also have cast bridgework in between each one. The sprocket itself is mounted with some fat 10mm shoulder bolts that seem very dense and heavy. Not sure what grade they are but they're substantial, for sure. Hopefully we won't be seeing any sheering problems. The bolts had a blue lock-tite-type of thread lock on them. Anyway, that's it for now.

2LZ, while you have it apart can you measure the height from where the sprocket seats on the center hub up to the face of the center hub? I'm guessing its about 14mm.
