Hello from the UK!
Hi, I own a Lexmoto XTRS (KS125-24) with a 165FMI engine, currently finishing a rebuild of upping it up to a 156cc with +1mm camshafts of a 163FML engine. Looking forward to this community and hopefully some help with carbs.
I also have a blog on my work, I'm handy with a spanner and have spent a fair amount of time on cars, but carbs puzzle me! Here's my blog should you want to see the bike in question: http://xtrsproject.wordpress.com/ |

Welcome!
I'd like to learn more about why your cam was so difficult to remove. Do you have a pic of the assembled top end?

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Regarding the cams, the valve head is one solid unit, no rocker cover just inspection covers. The cam is pressed in along with the bearings, the major flaw here is, on the sprocket end there's no room to get any tools in to extract it out and there nothing on the backside of the cam such as a hole where you could somehow press it out from the other side. They must have some sort of tool made, as the original camshaft was oval shaped on the point to which the sprocket lines up on giving you slightly more room to get some sort of tool in, not sure how or what gizmo's they have but the design seems more disposable than robust. The 163FML camshaft comes off an engine with a rocker cover so you don't have this oval shape, just a solid circle. We tried a few idea's till we was completely exhausted after a few hours of it and whilst having a break my friend came up with "lets tie it to two cars" idea that did the trick.
