XingYue ITA 150 rider Brookfield, WI

I got my XingYue ITA 150 with 16" wheels last year, late May 2010. I rode it all summer until Nov 13. All Ive done is clean the air-filter, change the oil and replaced the fuel filter. I also installed a wicked horn.

I chose this used scooter because it had already been ridden (and maybe had all the important stuff done upon delivery) and most importantly it had a complete WI title so I wouldn't have to wait on the slow boat paperwork.
And it has the 16" wheel advantage. It is stable in wind and rain and easy over rough roads.

I put about 1600 miles on to total 2900 now. April 7 was my first ride this year. It is only a 6.5 mile ride to and from work. mostly 45mph speed limits.

I know Ill change the sliders and fuel jets this season. And adjust the valves.

I would like more power so I don't need to run WOT the entire trip.
(I am overweight, so that doesn't help either)

I am looking for tips and ideas on better head-lighting and power of course.

Welcome!

16" wheels would be nice on a 150 scoot. Let's see some pics!

No pictures. Not sure why I haven't taken any yet.

But here is the exact same scoot - this is where the PO ordered it from:
http://www.scooterdepot.us/150cc-Aut...eds-p-692.html

The price drops!

If I get off my lazy butt, I will get some close up pics.

Welcome.

Our scooter forum has been alittle slow, but looks like things may be picking up around here.

Nice looking scoot on the website. If you buy two, you save $20.00!

Even when I was buying mine last spring, the same bike was 1299 or 1399. now it is so cheap, it may be better to buy new.
on the other hand they have a few 16" wheel scooters in the 150cc collection.

Why don't any 250cc scooters have 16" wheels?

I think that's a market that will eventually be explored. My buddy has a Silver Wing 600, and it really handles well. If it had larger wheels, it could pass for a sport bike, until you see the step-through design.

I found this for you.

I think that variator may also work on my elite.

oh yea
big bore, 4valve head... wheres the fuel injection kit?

I think the head must be a copy of the Suzuki Sixteen head. Suzuki Sixteen only sold in Thailand and such Asian areas.
Looks identical to my ITA 150 and has the 16" wheels. Has a 4 valve head, and fuel injection, and is rated at 17HP -seventeen. Darn near 100% more ponies, and better fuel economy to boot.

Is that crazy or what?
I tried briefly to ask a Singapore Scooter forum for information but really had no luck.

On a side note, I had my first roadside breakdown today - the spark plug wire came off the plug - no clip or grip on the plug tip.
Managed to reconnect it without a screwdriver.
/me puts a screwdriver in the toolkit.

New plug and coil with wire and connector on order.
From Scrappydog even.

Decent prices and selection of parts for the GY6 motor.

I have made a few purchases from them already. Parts usually come in 2-3 days. Also the tech help is actually helpful.

Perhaps ScrappyDog can teach FMF how to provide helpful tech support. FMF is notorious for giving bad advice over the telephone!

I dont knwo FMF, but i have asked scrappy a couple questions - very brief answers, but enough to be helpfull.

I bought an item form partsforscooters, and it was not what they advertised, and I paid shipping back. I lost the cost of shipping both ways due to thier missadvertising.
