New old guy from NC :)

Hi guys and gals. Been reading everything on here for about a month now...and based mostly on this site bought a '06' hi-bird qh200gy.

It's the 'more lifan like' one with rear drum. Just finished assembling today, which followed the disassembly where I took off most everything the factory had put on and redid with loctite. Loctite everywhere.

Dumped the factory oil before even the first start. Gave it some nice rotella, ran it about 10 mins to warm it up good. Shut her down, dumped the rotella, filled it up again, took for a 30 min ride and then did the oil change once again.

Sweet little machine. Impressed me and I have quite a collection of bikes. Now someone tell me where the freakin 'beep beeper' is located for the turn signals so I can pull it out and use it for target practice.

Hello and welcome!

I found my "beeper box" under the left side cover, I think it was. Just pull the cover, turn the key and hit the switch...it'll be pretty obvious. Just a little black box w/ an opening on one end. I rolled up a bit of paper towel to stuff into the hole, and then wrapped it with electrical tape a few times. I can still hear it, but just barely. A little more tape would make it completely silent, I think...but now that it's quiet, it no longer bugs me.

Congrats, and enjoy your new ride!

Welcome, 'duck' The proper term for that noise making device is "beeping winker"--please use the proper terminology!!

beeping winker

Ah very well, I thought only the brits had winkers....or was that wankers !!

oke, tomorrow i'm tracking that noisemaker down. Maybe I can sneak it onto one of the wife's bikes and wait for the reaction .....she wasn't around when I tried mine out...

Duck has been my roadname for bikes for years...dunno why, probably because I like to ride in the rain, or maybe I'm just Daffy.

That's awesome! I'm currently working on acquiring a Jawa 350 California and an East German Trabant! You wouldn't believe what it cost to get a trabbi shipped!

All in all how is the Saab? They did world rally with those things, didn;t they?

Nothing beats the smell of TCW3 first thing in the morning! (It's something I think I should share with my neighbours! )

I've switched to amsoil racing 2T on my strokers. Dunno if it is any better but it costs more so it must be?

The saab is a blast. 4 on the tree, freewheel, and pretty nimble. I'm sure 42 years ago it was better , but it's still fun.

A trabbie....wow...that would be cool. I'm looking for a GT750....had one back when they were new and hot...wish I had kept it...72 purple with a vetter fairing.
