Are You Embarrassed to Ride a China Bike?

Another thread had a little thread drift into this topic so I thought I’d start a new thread on it.

I am not in the least bit embarrassed by my China bike.

The only time I feel a little less than adequate is when there is a competing bike nearby or when I get blown away on the street by a Harley or something.

When a nice DR dual sport pulls up, or a tricked out adventure bike, or when some slow street bike like a Harley blows my no top end bike away... thanks when I feel a little inadequate.

But otherwise not at all. I’ve actually had some “nice bike” compliments.

Nope, Never embarrassed. Bikers in my area don't care what you ride as long as you ride. I've received many compliments on the bikes I own. I actually had a guy on a HD street glide slowed down to let me out f a street then pulled up on the side of me at the light and said " Nice bike, Is that a new Harley?" I replied. Not quiet, It's a single lunger. He took another look and said "No, Sh*t. lol Still a nice looking bike " and gave me the thumbs up.
BTW i was on the Ghost.

I get a lot of questions about my KPM. Most people didn't realize it was a Chinese bike. I've taken it up to the Honda/Kawasaki/ktm/blah blah blah dealership where some of my friends work. They like it. I'm trying to get it out to the local bike meet, and show it off. Probably next week if my leg feels better.

I am embarrassed that the USA doesn't offer a reasonably priced motorcycle. If it isn't made here, it doesn't matter where it comes from. It doesn't help the us economy hardly at all. Instead of hundreds of employees there are just a few folks affected. So no. Not embarrassed. Disappointed. Yes

I would be more embarrassed to spend 10 grand on a motorcycle that I have very little time to ride.

The only reason to get embarrassed about it is if you are using the bike as some sort of status symbol. If you ride bikes as an expression of some socioeconomic status marker, and not because you love to ride motorcycles, you should be embarrassed by how shallow your personality is and unfulfilled your life has become. I would rather ride a $1200 motorcycle and impress you by the type of person I am.

Besides, the smile on my face is the same if the bike I am riding cost me $500 or $20,000/

Nailed It! I ride for my self satisfaction. Don't give a flip what anyone else thinks of what I'm riding. I've ridden all types and brands of bikes. I've enjoyed these small cc bikes more than any of those bikes at a fraction of the cost. I think that's why i enjoy them more. I don't feel like i got raked across the coals for the little money i have tide up in them.

That's it right there. I don't care what people think about me in other aspects of my life, so why would I on this one? I'm having fun riding my china bike, and that's all that matters to me.

You give me a reason to drink.

I told her to stay right in the mud hole. She went left. Now her nickname is "Swamp Thing."

Every hill is climbable, if you're brave enough.

Let's go to the jewelry store, she said. It'll be fun, she said.

Not even a little bit. An inexpensive bike means I actually get to ride instead of staring at expensive bikes through a showroom window.

A fun topic. Glad to hear everyone’s opinion.

I love my China bike. I expected a disposable piece of crap like a Chinese generator I one bought.

But this thing is indestructible.

I don’t ride to impress anyone which is why I bought it in the first place. As a toy to have fun on. It’s more than delivered.

The only time I don’t like it is when it’s limitations are exposed (not having that 6th gear). I especially don’t like slow bikes blowing by me. Ha ha.
