X22 no spark, Rusty muffler

I just received my x22 from venom today and was super excited. Felt like Christmas. I didn’t have high hopes about the fit and finish but this is a little much. The muffler has obvious rust and the box looked like someone walked all over it. Again no big deal but it will not start.
The customer support is pretty good at venom. We have cake together to find a solution for the rust but the bike still won’t start.
Fuel is in it, battery is charged but there is no spark at the plug. I even tried a new plug that came with the bike and nothing. I really don’t want to disassemble the whole damn thing but is there anything else I can try?

Have you checked the kill switch. Is it on or off?

Yes, kill switch is off.

I’m no mechanic but it looks like all the wire to the starter coil are firmly in place. Is there a way to check the coil to make sure it works without disassembling the bike?

Also I have tried to take the plug out and ensure that there is a spark at the plug but nothing. Everything else electrical seems fine.

Check that your coil is grounded to the frame. You might have to remove it and clean the metal.

Would this coil work in my bike? It looks identical.

Also is there a way to test the coil either in the bike or a new one to ensure this problem is fixed?

It's a new bike with a one year bumper to bumper warranty. Contact Venom Motor Sports and they should send you what you need.

Pressing the brake doesn’t do anything.

Venom is sending me out a new CDI. Hopefully something works.

Update
Received the new CDI box in 2 days which was amazing but still no spark!! So frustrating right now.
Thankfully venom also sent out a new strator as well which I will have to somehow put in and reassemble everything. Off to YouTube to learn on how to replace.

Side note: i would recommend paying Venom to assemble everything if you have a busy schedule.

Make sure all your connections are good an grounds are tight, with no wires that are completely smashed/grounded. Also double check that the wires to the CDI are all doing what they're supposed to be doing.

Update
The mystery of the non working x22 still lingers.

I have replaced the ignition coil, CDI, and strator and STILL NO spark. Absolutely amazing. All other electronics work and the venom tech guys have been great. Everyone is still puzzled and I will be getting a new kill switch to see if that is the culprit.

Any other ideas? I am not using the kick stand but the center stand with the 2 “feet”.

I helped a member on here about a year ago. He had a similar experience as yours. It would not start out of the box. We traced, checked everything. His problem ended up being the switch in the kickstand. I think his was not aligned correctly, and prevented spark. He found it on accident as his father in law was messing around with it while he was cranking. You could use a multi meter, and check the ohms to see if the circuit opens and closes as the kick stand is up or down. This is assuming that you have one.

Did you verify the functioning of the wires, as I previously recommended? Throwing parts at something is almost never the best solution, besides in this case perhaps the CDI. I would verify that the black/white wire isn't grounded (the one going to the CDI). If you don't have a multimeter, just disconnect it and see if you get spark. Don't run it though, because you won't have a working kill switch. Double check that everything is working according to this:

I should add, if disconnecting that wire does cause you to get spark, you have a minimum of three switches to check: the ignition switch, the kill switch, and the sidestand (though probably not not, unless you're trying to start it in gear) switch. Any of those three could be malfunctioning, causing it to lose spark. If that's the case, don't just replace the parts, it is easy enough to test them, by either shorting them out, or by unplugging them; if the sidestand and kill switches prove to not be the problem, it's the ignition switch, that'll be harder to test, wait until you can confirm the state of the first two switches, first.
