Apollo DB 36 deluxe??

Seems like a lot of bike for the money

Water cooling kind of scares me with these China bikes, but that could be ignorance in my part.

specs say water cooled but the pics seem to show a air cooled motor..

Yup, I agree.

Most other sites show air cooled Zongshen engine.

Same as the DB36 (dirt only) with added lights, mirrors, speedo, etc. Very well built frame, excellent engine, good brakes, and good chain. Suspension is just ok for off road. Probably great for on road.

I wish they would have had this when I bought my DB36 250! I believe it is way better built than the Hawk 250. Nothing breaks. Nothing comes loose. Awesome looking motorcycle.

If that bike would of been available before I bought my Hawk I would be riding one. Much better suspension than the Hawk. Go for it.

I've always liked the Apollo stuff. Their dirt bike is (was?) CARB approved, I wonder if this will ever be.

After looking at the pictures, and reading the description on Orion's web site it does not look like the bike is water cooled.

Apollo DB 36 deluxe??
Anybody have one of these?

I have a 2017 Apollo RX250 (dirt bike), and so far it has been great. The only upgrade I would suggest would be to install the Mikuni Carb. The bike ran so much better after I changed it. I also changed the rear sprocket to a 52 tooth (I think stock was 37), but I use it for trail riding. Like any China bike check all the bolts, apply locktite to bolts, and change ALL the fluids.

I need to look over the lists of Executive Orders on the CARB site--I don't recall seeing the Apollo on the street-legal list, but then again, I didn't realize they would be coming out with a street-legal bike. I like the SSR XF250-ish sized wheels (17/17). I do recall these years back having full lighting kits and 17/17 motard-ish street tires--I believe it was a one container batch of them, because I only recall seeing one for sale on Ebay, and it was used. It looked very nice. After that, the only street ones I saw were on youtube from Europe, or Apollo's Chinese site.

Edit: The most recent CARB approval was on the off-road list from 2018 and the bikes were green stickered. They are probably awaiting CARB certification. On the EPA list, there is no listing for Apollo on the street-legal list, but they do have approval on the off-road motorcycle list. These will probably be like the Hawk/Magician bikes as far as getting them registered.

Get the Apollo 250 Deluxe! I happened to get it before they raised the price up, but if you wait the holidays, black friday, etc. they have sale's. It's a 2019 model made 07/19. Was fresh off boat in first real batch sent to the USA. Came no damages . When you buy one of these street legal bikes, make sure you request your MCO or fill the website's MCO form out. Theres usually a link on their website's starting MCO Request from. I learned hard way... Get rid of handle bars and do yourself a favor and get yourself a set of Pro Taper 7/8 handlebars (cr high bend). I got the platinum color on my black bike plastics. Goes together very nicely... I got pair of serpentine mirrors off ebay for literally 12.00 USD. Get yourself a rear shock cover from Aliexpress.com. By the way Aliexpress app or site has a lot of part's for these CB 250 Zongshen engines. Apollo db 36 deluxe comes with a CB250engine. CB's have Overhead cam. The Hawks have the CG 250 engine. They are really 223cc. Everything from front sprocket covers and even exact stock replacement cover. They got whole air cooled engine gasket sets, pistons Kits etc.. I changed out my carb to a different PZ 30 carb and did away with choke at control and cable. I actually have a few you tube videos on YouTube. One is a walk around on my 2019 Apollo deluxe. I also have an apollo dbx 18 125. I did a lot to that. Like buy an extra set of stock tires and replaced them with irc heavy duty tubes and Michelin city grip street tires, basically made the dbx 18 street legal from scratch.

Just search YouTube for "all in one apollo db 36 250 walk around" the other video is " all in one changes I've made to apollo rfz 18" And few more if your able to find them. They both been great running bikes. I highly maintain and keep my things clean. I wired up headlights, taillights with pressure banjo bolts and all for working brake light on the rfz 18. Good learning bikes for people to start on also. The deluxe is one of the better looking 250 chinese bikes, in my opinion. Especially when you change them handle bars & those mirrors. I put a 16 tooth on front of deluxe and in motion of trying to find a 35 tooth 520 rear sprocket. Having hell of time finding one. Just gonna have one custom made from rebelsprockets.com. only aluminum they make. I would not use the potentionly leaky battery they give you with bike. Please do yourself another big favor and go on ebay and buy the Zipp sealed 12 volt 5.7 amp battery . For 19.99. Or you can get 2 of mighty max 12volt 5 amp for 23.99 ebay. Preferably The Zipp battery.. trust... I did a lot of research on this type of stuff so. This picture was before I cleaned off spring, screen and magnet. I put a little bigger than a dime sized neodymium cheerios shaped magnet snuggly inside screen and it turned the screen and actual spring into slightly magnetic that attracted a surprised amount of metal shavings. It collected so much shavings, big time. I'll upload another photo of what it left on sheet. This was only 105 miles since previous oil change. 252-357 miles. I changed 3 other times before this. Maybe slight overkill Slight. Make sure ya check out the Apollo's. You'll be wanting one. Hopefully all goes well for ya folks. Have a good one ....

How are the plastics on it? Typical brittle chinese? Painted or colored. I plan on ordering a bike next week, but leaning towards the brozz.

The plastics seem to be of good quality. Mine are black plastic, with what seem to be good quality vinal decals. Nothing about the bike gives off a cheap parts vibe. I was very impressed with the quality of the bike when I bought mine, and actually could not believe it was only 1680.00 shipped and registered. Now I have not dumped the bike and crashed it, so I can say how well it would hold up with that kind of use, but for what I have used it for, I feel its a great value.

The things that were changed on the bike are listed below:

Tusk CR bend handle bars
Protaper gripps, and cross bar pad
rear sprocket 52 tooth
530 oring chain
ngk iridium spark plug
VM26 Mikuni Carb with 27.5 pilot, and a 120 main ( at sea level)
Front fender with a 2017 Honda CRF230 UFO fender -

Thanks Douglass. We have the same taste I believe. I have a black Brute Force (kymco). It's been an awesome little machine around my property. I like the white on yours better.

I'm set on the brozz or Apollo. The Apollo does seem like a better bike in all regards other than not having the CB engine. I like the idea of the wider seat on the brozz, as well as having more potential parts compatibility with the hawk and csc.

It looks like I can get the Apollo for $1700. The "new" brozz for $2000. I not sure the brozz is worth the $300 dollar premium over the other *premium" China bikes. (I'm sure they are both great though)

The Brozz is available and 49 state street legal. Jeff at Peacesports (the thread here on the dual-sports section) said to PM or call him. The Apollo is a good basic dirt bike, so it depends on what you plan on doing is what it would boil down to. Unless you are talking about the street-legal Apollo, but that is not available yet. Oh, the Apollo has 21/18 wheels, whereas the Brozz has the 19/17 wheels.

I think I was one of the earliest hawk buyers. The picture on rps's website of the Black hawk with the river behind it was actually my picture/bike. And I did like it alot. Traded it to a buddy to do AC work for me. He now has 4k miles on it.

With the brozz and Apollo I like the Zong engines, the far better swing arms, the better suspension, etc. This will be my 4th China bike, so know well what I am getting into. Seems like both of these options are a considerable "upgrade" to the hawk, but obviously at a price point difference. Thanks for the info guys, I'll be ordering one in the coming days. Will post with what I decide on.
