What motor oil to use; Will this be okay---> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HJ6VFAW/?coliid=I2NHMUUQD8UFRP&colid=1BMDIQ247G86W&psc=1&r ef_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it 2). What Fork oil to use (?) 3). Will the Nibbi PE30 be a great upgrade and if so should/will I need this adapter?---> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PCN9MQW...v_ov_lig_dp_it 4). What size Jet needle to use for best performace;I live in flat florida if that means anything. 5). What's the best yet cheap Chain lube ? 6). Axel grease..are they all the same ? if not which would you use ? 7). Does upgrading the Exhaust/pipes really increase speed? Suggestions (?) 8). Anyone ever replace their rear and front light bulbs ? 9). What would be a better upgrade to the stock Battery ? 10). Annnd one more question and it might be dumb but.. Are all the keys to the Tao TBR7 the same ??? Last edited by Road Gaper; 11-22-2021 at 08:54 PM. |

Before I changed it, it ran fine up to about 40 MPH, but above that it ran crappy and I'd have to put choke on (either partially or almost fully) to be able to even accelerate above 40. Why not just wait until you need a new one? It is not like we have COLD weather starting issues! |

Yes way!, it ran TOO LEAN! "Maybe someone 150 lbs. might be able to use as delivered, but with my weight, was literally no good above 40 MPH without choke on. Now it is good with larger jet. NO other upgrades needed!

1. Rotella 15/40, change the stock oil before you ever start it.
2. I use Belray 15w 3. Your current carb is actually 26mm, you can spec it. The PE30 is great, I have the PWK30 and love it. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B097BPKP...roduct_details 4. Jetting will depend on the carb. Every Carb acts different with different jets. Currently I am at 105/38, needle on #2, air mixture @ 2 turns on the PWK30. I tested 100-140 on mains, 25-48 on pilots, this is best for me on the coast of Texas. 5. Chain lube is a personal preference, swap that stock chain to a O-Ring Chain. If you want a good 428, here you go but check to verify how many links are in your stock chain, better to have to remove a few than get one too short.. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Niche-428...ycle/242556965 6. I would use Marine grade lithium grease. 7. YES, swap the stock for a free flow exhaust. Many out there to choose from. Exhaust from a CRF230f will fit, you will need a new gasket. I have a few left, just message me. Here is a starting point for ya'. https://www.ebay.com/itm/22155581173...cAAOSwaCBgPcnP 8. Yes, Jay on Youtube has a video on this. I sent you a link to his videos, search them. 9. This is a great battery, many to choose from but I have had zero issues with this one. https://www.walmart.com/ip/YTX5L-BS-...ycle/165456964 10. Leave it outside and see!! Any questions, reach out, we are all here to help. Last edited by jasbeth; 11-01-2021 at 03:50 PM. Reason: Chain Links, oil |
