Ball joint zerk fittings
Has anybody added grease fittings to their ball joints and if yes, which grease fitting did you use?I have bought some Alemite 3009 drive in zerk fittings which have a 3/32's shank length along with a 3/16" hole and am going to try and do one just to see if it is possible.

Noticed I have a hole in my frame tube in the front on the bottom that is letting water get in.Either weld it or silicone it.Might do both.

I reckon I got it sealed up,hard spot to weld.First couldn't get it to ground so I ground a little paint off, then I couldn't get my big pumpkin head in there with my helmet on so I just closed my eyes and visually welded it in my mind, lol.

Got lucky and still had some black flex seal that hadn't dried up and put some of that on there to cover up the weld.

Got my ball joints and my tie-rod ball joints set up with a grease fitting so I could grease them. You would not believe how much easier it steers now, unbelievable.I didn't get the two on the tie rod near the steering shaft,I'll have to take them off to drill and tap them.I started out using the drive in grease fittings but the 3rd one was loose, where I wiggled the drill while drilling it out,so I went with the 6mm which only required the hole to be one size bigger than 3/16th, a 13/64.

I have been noticing how harder it was to steer.I still like the 2 on the tie rods near the steering shaft,I'll have to take both tie rods loose on both ends to do those. It is easier to steer now. |

That was the first ones i installed on my ATV, Hawk And UTV. That seems to get the most wear form water and sand. I pump them up every time we head out to the spillway to help keep water out of the swingarm. So far The 7 year old ATV and 5 year old Hawk and UTV have had no issues with the swing arms.
