Roketa sicicly 50 and 150 identical besides the motor?
Are these completely identical besides engine?

I would like to have a 50cc frame with a 150cc engine and this seems like a decent option. I already found a non-runnning roketa 50 for 100$ and I am thinking about buying a used roketa 150 for 300$ |

I don't know if they're identical, but there are some choices with GY6 engines, in terms of short vs. long case. One good source would be to search the scooter forum for posts by Reveeen; he's really knowledgeable about the subject. I haven't seen him on here for awhile.

I did find some info thrus his posts but not enough to know if the it's a straight swap between the two. |

I just bought a 150cc version of the same scooter today ;-)
It's a 2006 with only 3k km's but it has been sitting outside for 2 years. Looks rought but it started right up when hooked to a charger. The paint has also peeled from the sun... the plastics on these is not good at all... However I think the float is stuck in the carb because it started leaking fuel right away while running. Also it did not run quite right. Both scooters are still with their PO's because I have to borrow a truck to go fetch them sometime soon. So this one I bought it for 160$ so I got 260$ in both scoots. Well see how this project pans out. |

So, do you still plan to pop the 150 into the 50 frame?

I believe it will, but not 100% positive on that. Some of the 50cc scooters had larger frames like the 150cc models.
Most of the electronics are the same. |

I wonder if a 150cc shoirt case engine like this:

Ya know, Weldy, I'm fascinated by the idea- and from what I can see, the only issues seem to be that the front motor mounts on the 50cc's are on the bottom, while it is on the top on the 150's- They say many 50cc scooters have lugs on the frames where a top mount could be welded on....
Interesting. That, and I don't know if the shaft coming out of the clutch would match up with the stock 50's rear wheel...and a different exhaust would be needed- but it sounds doable....... |

Got both of them home.
Althou they are the same cosmeticaly, the frame isnt the same. The mounting points for the engine are totaly different and the 150cc version has a second shock mount in the rear. So I can either merge the frames at the floorboard or I can cut all monnts off one frame and weld them on the other frame. I think the best option is merging them at the floorboard. I'm going to use a pipe stretching tool to make the frame tube bigger on one frame and slide both frames together then weld. Seems to be the easiest way to do this. |
