Libby's IceBear Zodiac on the way
Well, I finally pulled the trigger after over a year of y'all hearing me
talk about this!!!! LMAO !!!! . For those who remember, I have went from talking about a 50cc trike to modify for faster speed ( BAD idea, btw ) to getting a Cyclone 150cc & her getting her proper license. But for TWICE the price, you really do get almost twice the trike in the form of the 300cc Zodiac trike with reverse. So I have been reading everything I can, watching everything I can, and it looks to be a legit OK machine. I know Ice Bear, as a whole, has a bad reputation for overall quality. But from what I have read, the Zodiac seems to be an exception. Time will tell. Basic stuff when it comes in ( change oils, antifreeze, fuel lines and vacuum lines ) Soft break in ( that I don't really agree with ) blah blah blah. This thing cost me $4400 ish. * rolls eyes * BUT, there is no one, NO ONE else making 300+ cc scooter trikes. Ice Bear is IT. ( for now ) It will be here in about 2 weeks so they say. I ordered it from Bobcat's Motorsports in Cali. Was not / am not too concerned on how fast the MCO takes to come in, as Libby has not even got her M license yet. I ordered it in white. Very visible, nearly the same frontal presence as a Goldwing, plus has fog lights. And while I am waiting on her to get her M endorsement, I can ride it around a bit and break it in some. I am not a huge fan of trikes. That may change after I ride this thing a bit. But fir now, I am not very excited about it. But if, IF, if she does start going on rides with us, it will be a great thing. I just hope the thing will run a true GPS certified 60 MPH if needed. SUPPOSED TO. But, then again, my Grom is supposed to go 60+, and I have yet to break 53 on flat ground. Downhill, sure! But not on flat ground. And up hill OR a headwind is a 45 MPH affair. LOL

My CB guy here in Sac (Doug, ATV Wholesale) had a few of those I years past. I sat on one out of curiosity but never rode one. Can't wait to hear your review!

Me either... My wife wants one because she never learned to ride on 2 wheels. This could well be what she needs to get out on the road!

Congrats on this purchase. I look forward to your ongoing reports!!
I was just watching a video from SEMA (maybe 2015) where a company rents out the same Icebear trikes in Vegas, as well as others. They said in the video they are dealers, too, and the Icebear rep is sharing the booth on behalf of the Icebear company, so perhaps they are the exclusive Vegas dealer as well? Anyway, I got all gung-ho about opening up a rental shop in California as trikes are the loophole there; one needs only a regular driver's license to ride a trike in California while one needs a motorcycle license to ride any two-wheeler, including a 50cc scooter (I was originally thinking of using my TGB connections for a two-wheel rental business featuring TGB scooters), but then it hit me--trikes! Then reality hit me--Icebear trikes are not CARB legal...

My wife, God loves her & bless her heart, , , just can't do the clutch thing.
We tried. And tried. AND TRIED! That plus wobbling all over the place was just too much for her to take. I had in my mind " get her on the Grom, figure out the clutch, then go buy that peach of a Honda Rebel with the bags & all for $2k. Vola!!!! " Mmmmm Hmmmm. NO VOLA!!! . so , , , we will see how the Trike thing goes. I assure you I will be posting very detaild reports of everything about it, good and bad, right here. Stay tuned............................................. .............

Neat video.
If those trikes can hold up in a rental fleet then they must be pretty good. Wonder how big a hit is the insurance for the owner of the rental trikes? No good in FL as you have to have a MC or three wheel endorsement to ride. Subscribed to hear Louis's experience. |

"This thing cost me $4400 ish. * rolls eyes *"
That is cheap for a trike with decent performance. |

It has arrived.
Well, it came in. Was a @&#$$ bastard to get uncrated and off the shipping pallet. Still have more bolts & nuts to lock-tite and replace the fuel and vacuum lines. Changed all the fluids. Lock tight done on the wheel bolts & brake calipers and shift lever setup for the F-N-R shifter.
I took some pictures of the uncrating, but was rushing so hard to beat the rain that I did not take any of the step by step process. I did, however, make a YouTube vid of my initial thoughts about this, , , , trike. ( trying to be nice at this point ) . I just pray the hard mechanical bits are better quality than the paint & bodywork!!!!! .
