Homemade snow plow
Here's the photos . Used a metal shelf from work truck as blade . Bolted to angle iron then welded to square stock . Made some clamps then bolted to frame. Used wire in front to keep from swaying left or right. Might try something more permanent later on. Tied rope to top of blade then to front rack.when need to lift blade just put wood block under rope.

Excellent idea! I really like the concept of using a metal shelf as a plow. For a little insurance, you could lower the mounting point and make it pivot. You could then attach springs to the upper section, which would give the blade some cushion, in case you hit a curb.

Looks like a lot of work went into that .I have never seen an old shelf used for a plow before ,but I have seen a sheet of plywood ,and an old wooden entrance door .If you would like an easy way to lift it ,do a google search for Snowsport snow plows ,watch the video and look at the pictures ,they use a piece of rubber on the sides that is shaped to raise the Plow when you back up ,and it works pretty slick .
