carb question, I think I put my carb together wrong
I'm looking at the pictures in http://www.chinariders.net/modules.p...showpage&pid=3
In step 4 I placed my needle on top of the clip inside the slider. The picture shows the needle on the botton of the clip. Is the picture correct? |

So the needle is touching the bottom of the slider. The clip sits on top of the needle and the spring sits on top of the clip.

when I do this the needle hits the fuel jet and the slider does not move down to the the bottom since the spring is pushing against the needle.
Maybe I should post a picture |

Is the needle jet missing in your carb?
The needle is called the "jet needle". It moves up and down into the brass part called the "needle jet". The main jet screws into the bottom of the "needle jet". Q |

I ran my needle above the clip and never got a steady throttle. As soon as I moved in under the clip it ran perfect. Hope this helps.

Make sure you have the slide aligned correctly. One side of the slide has a large tapered groove for the idle screw to push against, the other side has a thin cutout that has to aligned with a pin in the carb.

well the problem was the jet.. the jet is not a fit for my carb.. i put the original jet in the carb and everything fits like it should.
Maybe I replaced the wrong jet? I figured the jet below the throttle is the main jet.. |
