Replacement exhaust gasket
Hey everyone! Working on decating my exhaust on my hawk, and the exhaust gasket fell apart. Is there an easy replacement for that? It seems to be made out of some fiber material.
Thanks! |

What part of the exhaust? Header to Engine? Header to Muffler?
If it's the Header to Engine, upgrade to a Honda OE Copper Crush Gasket part number 18291-MN5-650 If it's the other part, I can't help with that, sorry

Sorry, i meant the header to muffler. Im thinking just some exhaust gasket material that they sell at auto parts stores should be ok right? Just cut to size?

It's 34.5mm on the inside and 50mm on the outside. I don't know what it is made out of but it kind of feels like pvc or some kind of plastic.

Header to muffler gasket depends on when the bike was built. The early Hawks had slipover, current Hawks have a flange.
Mine is flange, see post #38 and notice the big, silver piece behind the kickstarter: http://www.chinariders.net/showthrea...t=16636&page=3 |

Hey everyone, I ended up going to Napa and buying a sheet of their exhaust gasket material. I used my dremel to cut a new one out to size and it works great!
Thanks for all the suggestions, ill probably end up buying a new copper gasket for the other joint as well. |
