Hello from Florida
Hi everyone I recently purchased a Hawk 250 from Amazon along with a Nibbi 30mm carb. I'm having a little newbie struggle getting the carb to run correctly.
It bogs out at top gear and I'm not sure which jets I should use? Other than that I like the bike I just modified the seat hump and it feels a lot better. I really enjoy woking on things I'm kinda new to working on carbs I always had mechanics set them up for me but it's definitely time to do this on my own. |

Welcome to the forum.
Here's a video to help kick start your carburetor learning. A hawk owner with Nibbi 30mm experience might be around later to chime in with some advice on jet sizes or just experiment with going up or down sizes after watching the video to get an understanding.

Thank you for the YouTube video on how to tune the carb. A lot of info there. I'll be working on it one step at a time. I appreciate your response.

Welcome. Recommend you watch several YT videos, since different people cover different things or explain in more detail.

Welcome aboard! The Nibbi pe30 really is too large for the stock engine. With a lot of patience you can tune it. On a stock engine the pe 28 would of been a better match and much easier to tune. Hopefully you can get it running perfect.

I got the carb set up and running smooth. I adjusted the play in the throttle, air mixture sounds good and it idles great. Hopefully I got it close.
I bought a digital cluster and I had no idea I needed extra parts for it since it didn't come with the speed sensor. That came in and I want to install that. I'm not going to hookup the gear wires since I don't think it's essential. I mostly want it to work for the tach and more accurate speed. And since I'll be taking off the front wheel I'll change the fork oil and set the preload. There is some good advice here from an admin on this forum. Thanks for the replies and everybody have fun |
