Need ANOTHER part!!!
Ok...as some of you know, I've had problems with my Tank Vision 250
2i. They are: 1) Mirror mount vibrated off while riding due to no locktite (unable to get part so far). 2) Front tire is actually a REAR tire (unable to get replacement from Tank). And now for the 3rd (I'm REALLY getting pissed off): Fuel sediment bowl (glorified gas filter) CRACKED (very cheap plastic) this morning at 0200 when I started the bike while leaving work! I start the bike, smell gas, look down and gas is just GUSHING out. I make sure everything is tight check the the filter and there's a nice crack there! What the hell is going on with this bike??? I wasn't expecting the quality of "The Big 4", but I WAS expecting a RELIABLE machine when I bought it. To make a long story short, I didn't get home unitl about 0645 thanks to a co-coworker with a pickup who came in at 0600 (no tow truck company would help). Ok..this is REALLY starting to get ridiculous. I've only had this bike 5 months! I swing by the Honda dealer this afternoon at about 1530 on the way to work. They can order the part, but they need to know what year the engine is! Which, of course, I don't know because it's an older design. I can try checking with Keihin (they manufacture the carb). However, if I can't find this, can anyone out there get their hands on one? As always, I'd appreciate some help! |

Re: Need ANOTHER part!!!
Just for the record, it's the actual Sediment Bowl that screws into the fuel shut-off valve. Please read the following. Thanks!

Ok yep here we go again...kidding, post a pic in your gallery. Give me the size of the thread area in mm for the sediment bowl {where it screws in} and I'll see if I have a new or used one floating around. Or a pick of the entire petcock, on the tank, and center to center of the mounting screws. Again I may have an aftermarket one that will work for you. Hey you could send me the pics through to my e~mail address too!

Thanks, Bruce. I was kind of thinking of just going with a new petcock and then use an inline gas filter. The stock unit is really a piece of crap. Anyway, I'll pull it off tomorrow and get back back with you. Thanks, Bruce.
