I believe someone said that it is a suzuki styled engine so the dr200 filter may fit.
Alot of us run shell rotella 15w40, but that is probably to heavy for cooler seasons. You can be the rotella in a synthetic too. I will be switching soon to lighter oil. 5w30 motorcycle oil should work.

It's the same oil filter as Suzuki DR200 and LT250F Ozark for example.
Hi-flo filtro 132 fits also.

I tried the Hi-Flo 132 and it's too long for the xf200-
Anybody have any other numbers?

If it has the engine shown in the pic, HF132 fits, I use that filter.
The engine is identical to Suzuki DR200. From Hiflo filtro homepage: Suzuki DR200 SE-T,V,W,X,Y,K1,K2,K3,K4,K5,K6,K7,K8 1996 to 2008 Oil Filter: HF132

Yea, exact same bike that's in the pic- exact same engine. Bought a Hi-Flo 132 new in the original box- won't fit, the hi-flo is about 3/4" longer.

I have a Qingqi 200 and the filter fits perfectly, I use the Hiflo in my Ozark too. Have you put it in centered so the hole in the filter goes over the "oil hole" in the engine case? Have you compared to the original filter? What "model year" is your bike?

Did some research and you are correct, there is a shorter oil filter on models with "double start". I guess they mean kick and electric.
Bikes sold in Sweden only have electric, just as DR200. I'm sorry that I mislead you to buy the wrong filter.... Qingqi: two different versions Suzuki DR200:

Thanks for posting. Wonder how I could cross reference that filter to a hi-flo?

Some of the suzuki pure dirt bikes may have that smaller filter. Is there a drz200 pure dirt model?

oil filters on a xf200 - HELP
I have being doing my oil change at the place I bought my QLINK XF200. So far my bike has 1500 km, so I did it twice already. It is the only dealer around in Raleigh/NC and he is too pricy, first time chraged almost 100.00 for oil change, second oil change was around 50.00, a car doesn't cost that much. So I am really thinking on buying the oil filter + oil and do my self or take to any bike shop and do it.
The problem is the oil filer for XF200 it is a hard to find item. I read about many people here trying to find the correct oil filter, and as far as I understood the DR200 (Suzuki) doesn't fit because it a little bit longer. Did any of you have found this oil filter (or similar) yet? Usually how much you guys pay for a oil/filter change? P.S. I have a 2008 XF200 silver like the one in the photo. |

Wow - $100 and $50 ! that's insane. The guy should be brought up on charges.
I think the correct filter is a Hi-Flo 131 (costs $4.99) and any 10w40 oil at about $3.00 - Takes literally four minutes to do the job. Warm the engine, pull the bottom plug, remove three crown nuts on the cover of the filter and replace filter. Fill with oil until you see it in the middle of the site glass. This is a $10 to $15 job max. I even went to the dealer to price the oil filter form them directly. They said they would sell to me for around $5.

gdavis2265 thanks for your prompt reply.
I never liked this dealer, but since he is the only one in town...I will tell later what he did on the day that I bought the bike (brand new). But since it was teh first time I bought a morotcycle in US .. I wasn't aware about the tricks and shortcuts. ALso this guy is rude, and seems to be doing a great favor selling and servicing the motorcycle for me. Regarding the oil filer and oil change, since my XF200 is still under warranty, if I do the service by myself, I will have my factory warranty canceled? I will look for this filter ..again thanks so much for giving me the oil filer model number. |

changing your oil and filter won't void your warranty

Thanks again.
This Forum was a fantastic help for me. Since it won't void my warranty (the dealer told me that he keeps all records and send to the manufacturer what I doubt) I will start performing oil changes by myself. If I need any further instructions (although you gave already) I contact you. Thanks Ronaldo XF200 |
