Bike is in....damaged
Well the box was mangled and the bike is damaged on both sides. Paint damaged on almost all the panels, panniers, handlebars, grips, frame guards, and pannier guards finish is damaged.
Sucks. Plus side, it fired up, sounds good, rides fine. Ryan at CSC is on the case to send out the parts that are damaged so I can swap them out. I'll post pics later. I'm on my phone. Very happy with how attentive CSC to this issue. Really the shipper is the culprit.

I'm sorry to hear of your problems. Indeed, the shipper is responsible, and liable for all the damages.
Nevertheless, I'm happy to hear the usual report of excellent customer service from CSC.

Shouldn't the crates be reinforced with angle iron around all the edges? I ordered a Chinese scooter, and that's how it came to me. Was able to use the extra crate steel for other projects!

CSC now assembles every motorcycle, and tests it, before they pack the bike in a custom wooden crate for shipping.

It was strapped down tight to the pallet. The cardboard sides were pushed in by something else and basically rubbed paint and finish off of everything it touched. The handlebars pushed through the side and damaged the bars, weight, and grip. Panniers on both sides have finish damage on both sides.

Sorry to hear that, csaddict!
I'm sure CSC will take care of you. And at least now, you can keep the damaged panels and paint them any color you like. Could turn out nice.

Sorry to hear of the shipping issues, CSaddict. I know you were looking forward to receipt of the bike. Unfortunately this is the shipper's liability, but glad to hear that CSC is making things right for you. Keep us updated!

Sorry, but their "Custom Wood Crate" sucks.
But then again, that damage only looks like a good Saturday in the woods. This is a "Custom Wooden Crate" that I just made to ship something across country, for a trade show booth for one of my clients. |

I mean , good grief, talk about your free shipping (thanks to trucking company). That's a good way to go broke.

In all fairness, this is the first time I have heard of an RX3 being damaged inside the CSC shipping crate. Obviously, the crate was mishandled. I don't blame the owner for being disappointed with the damage to his new motorcycle. Personally, I want to make all the dents and scratches on a new motorcycle myself, and not have the shipping company do it for me.

That sucks CSaddict. Breaking in the paint is the owners responsibility , not the shipping co. Anyway I'm sure when CSC takes care of you, you will have a great looking bike to be happy with. rj
