Coil problem.
Does anyone know what the correct ohms readings should be on the coil on a 2stroke Chinese mini pocket bike. I get a reading of 1.5 ohms when I set my multimeter at 20k on the ohms setting. I can't get a spark on this bike. I bought a new coil but still no spark and am getting the same reading on the new coil. I am thinking that the new coil is faulty as well. Any help appreciated.

Not sure of what the Ohms should spec out to, but is the area that the coil is grounded clean, rust and paint free?

It's more likely a problem with the CDI or stator. While you hear about different ohm coils with cars, it doesn't generally seem to be something that varies much with motorcycles.

He has a 2 stroke rope start pit bike Franque ,with the lawnmower style coil ,no stator ,no cdi ,just a magnet on the flywheel .The problems could be the magnet ,the coil itself ,the spark plug, the plug wire ,the plug connector ,or the kill circuit .There is nothing else involved .
