Dualsport Chic
Anyone else been following D/S Chic's story over at Adventure Rider? Man what a sorry assed affair those CT beuracratic dickheads are puting her through. Ifeel terrible for her. I've read that RX3 thread since its inception and she was full of excitement and joy when she placed her order and then got the bike......hate to see her entire experience crash and burn like that....what a damn shame!

Have not seen it, but then again, have not been on ADVrider for a while. Can you link it here so I don't have to search through miles and miles of BMW/KTM banter to find it?

Not much they can do according to the posts in the forum...its just terribly unfortunate and unnecessary. If the bikes pass DOT and CARB then it should be automatic...

You are correct 2LZ - the bikes will all need to go through an inspection process and must be trailered to one of the two DMV locations that have been designated for them. However, there remains the question as to how all the other manufacturers have been able to get on the State's 'approved' list - even those with no distributor network within CT. This is what my question will be to the DMV tomorrow. Once we know that, perhaps we can gain some traction on making it easier for all the other potential CT buyers of Zongshen products - which is in the best interest of CSC as well.

Sadly yes - they did demand my sales tax even though I was unable to be granted a registration. No fee for inspection, just for registration/titling when it does finally happen.

Not only that but once it's finally registered, I'm looking forward to the review! We don't have "real writers" here all the time, just a bunch of keyboard commandos like me! ;-)

All of this nonsense was the Auto Lobbiests in CT. They bucked the system up by claiming that Tesla had an unfair advantage by selling cars without a license. Someone obviously got handed some cash and now every manufacturer that sells any vehicles in CT to be registered must have a license to do so. The importer license to do so in CT is $2300 for 2 years. CSC isn't a big enough company to pay this, and there is certainly not enough overhead on bikes to cover it simply for how many will be sold in CT...
With that said, yes, it's super annoying. There is an inspection station in the center of CT (Wethersfield) and one down toward NY -- Lucky for me, I live in Northeast CT... Really not any way to be further away! I towed mine down there for the courtesy vin inspection, took about 35 mins there, cost me nothing to get the inspection done. Next day, I went to my local DMV and got tins with this new paper in hand. Done and done. It's not any big deal - DSchick just got burned because of vacation time usage, etc. DS-chic - I still offer to help! Dave aka Ghan |

Not sure what happened with CS Addict's reg. but I was told that the DMV employee that granted it to him will be 'disciplined' as there is NO ZONGHEN or affiliate in CT's DMV list of approved manufacturers. He got lucky - myself and Ghaniba were forced to go the inspection route. Ghaniba now does have his registration as he was able to get up to DMV with a trailer.

Thank you Black Bike. Started the RX3 tonight and took it for a couple laps around the yard to keep the battery charged - up into my pasture - over a few rocks and down a few embankments and then parked it back in the garage. Still no foreseeable time window to take it up to DMV for inspection.
