Hey guys, been a busy couple of weeks here. Sadly, I've sold the Konker (again!). I just wasn't using it and thought it would be better off somewhere where someone had the time to ride it. The new owner absolutely loved it and was very happy with it, it did still look like new with next to no miles on her.

Was searching for a Wing for a while and leaning towards a 1500 or high miles 1800, but I have to spend some money on the house (new roof for house and garage, eavestrough and sidewalk repairs... Yikes!). So, my Wing budget dropped significantly. Still wanting to try out the big tourer's I started looking at the old 1100's and 1200's. Spotted a nice looking 86 Aspencade for what I thought was a reasonable price so I scooped it. Needs some TLC but it's been very well taken care of otherwise. Here's a pic of my new (old) love .

EXCELLENT BIKE!

The early Aspencades are an awesome value and still have a lot of love and life left in them. It is also a quater-million-mile machine easy, with a little love;-)

The fact it weighs like a zillion pounds less than a GL1800 and is so simple to service are additional plusses.

So, have you started to plan the next re-purchace of the Konker;-) LOL!

Lol, thank's Doc, I really like it . Spent a couple of hours in the saddle today with about 45 minutes of two up with my son, we both had a blast! He finds the seating and floorboard's much more comfortable than the KLR. I'll have to read up on the air pressures and such for the suspension, she kind of jumps when you hit a hole or big bump, lol! I also have all the maintenance records for the wing and a repair manual. Oh! And a big Wing cover, the actual Honda Goldwing one with all of it's bold graphics... Lol!

No repurchase plans on the Konker this time around, awesome bike and all but I just never get time to use it. New owner is about 6 hours away, so a long day for him to pick it up! Lol, just glad it went to someone who will finally put some miles on it .

I'm glad to hear that you bought another bike when you sold the Konker, Stew. When I began reading this thread, I thought perhaps you might be getting out of riding altogether.

Do you plan to make a West coast trip with your son on your beautiful new Aspencade?

West coast trip is definitely in the works, heck, I have never been there myself much less my son .
Have to check the old girl over and see how reliable she is first. I do have AMA Plus though in case it breaks down on the road somewhere! Lol!
One of the previous owners was a retired pastor, so I hope that gives me good luck with it .

Lol! Those are funny! True too, I met a few Harley's on the way home with it and only one of the bunch waved! Two cute girl's on a scooter in Leduc did wave though, so that made up for it . One feature that I'm really really liking is the self cancelling turn signals, love 'em!
