Doubletake Adventure style mirrors
Did a few things to the RX today preparing for a ride tomorrow.
The 35w bulb CSC sent to replace the stock bulb (low beam blew) was feeble. So I installed a Sylvania Ultra 55/60W H4. Used a Dremel cut off wheel to make a series of gill cuts on the rear bottom to hopefully help with whatever additional heat is created. Removed the stock mirrors (my left mirror was always loose) and installed the Ram balls on the bottom. No flats for a wrench, so used a dab of blue loctite and narrow vice grips to tighten. Then the 6" Ram arms and the mirrors Folded in for woods riding And removed the stupid Speed decals. MUCH better Also got a SAE to lighter plug adaptor so now my portable compressor is in the RX tool mix. Along with tire irons, patch kit and two spare tubes I think that's covered. Supposed to be sunny and 60 tomorrow. Oh boy! |

I see you bought the 'coffin' mirrors, instead of the round mirrors. They look great. Thanks for posting the nice photos.
Can you share a link for the lighter plug/SAE adapter? P.S. Send some of that heat up to Idaho.

Dan Quayle got in trouble for spelling potato with an extra 'e,' but that is the way I was taught to spell many years ago. Potatoe is an older, but still correct spelling of the word more commonly spelled potato. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=potatoe Even Wikipedia acknowledges this fact. The spelling of potatoe, while not terribly common, existed for almost the entire 20th century. For example, the New York Times was still occasionally spelling potato with an –e in 1988. In fact, one can easily find spellings of potatoe all the way up to 15 June of 1992, at which point they suddenly drop off or become used in an ironic way, referencing this incident. http://blog.oxforddictionaries.com/2...a-hot-potatoe/

I like those mirrors. Do you have a link?
Strange that they don't have flats for a wrench.

From personal experience, I would suggest that you add an SAE directly to your battery or at least fuse it to the requirements of your compressor. The lighter plug only has a 5 amp fuse and most compressors will blow that in a couple of seconds. I also use the SAE on the battery to attach a battery tender.

Tools
Having to buy a new tool set here in Colombia, hoping everything on the bike is metric? Do I need torx set? Trying to keep it basic, combo box/open end wrench set(metric), Allen set(metric), screwdrivers, vice and slip joint pliers, side cutters, need a small socket set(metric) and tire repair kit w/extra tubes& wrench (size?) for axles. Any other suggestions? Thanks! 🇨🇴
