Something to add to your next order, fasteners

Our bikes use threaded clips to mate the various body panels. There seem to be three types that are most common, two for threaded screws and one for what look like wood screws. The latter are unusual enough that I'd recommend adding a couple to your next order from CSC. These things are cheap. Somehow I lost one clip and it took a few days to get a replacement from CSC. Of course I ordered a bunch of extra in each size so if/when I lose the next one I'm only 2 steps away from solving the problem.

FWIW, I had the same issue with a BMW, a Ducati, and a Triumph. The local dealers for those brands had the clips in stock but my stash of parts does not include the size needed for the Zong.

From the CSC parts list for the RX3:

Fuel tank side panels, nut clips...#16 (six)
"" "".........#14 (four)
" "".........#10 (two)

All told these add up to about $2.50.

Thumbs Down

Plus the $15 ups ground shipping. Too bad you can't choose the $7 usps box.

The shipping part is why I suggest adding this to some other order.

I wouldn't mind a prepacked (fishing tackle box) box of spare fasteners if CSC offered it. I'm sure one could be made to cover about everything for 25-30 dollars. I'd definitely pick up one of those and never have to worry about losing a bolt or replacing one that rusted.

I've got a few mismatched ones on mine that I dropped somewhere and kicked into a black hole in the garage.
